01.

How much do I need to get started?

This is number that fluctuates more than the stock market. lol Considering all the variable cost such as business setup, truck purchasing, and licensing, etc. That number can be anywhere between $20-$40K. But there are options available to spend less.

02.

What is the biggest expense in trucking?

It's a toss up between fuel and insurance. But the way that fuel prices have been lately, I'm leaning towards fuel for sure. Although both fuel and insurance are constant expenses for this type of business, they can be considered variable seeing as they can fluctuate.

03.

What is some good advice for potential future trucking company owners?

Fix your credit. It opens doors and makes it easier to build business credit faster. Get a mentor in the industry. No need to make the same mistakes so many others have already made. Get your CDL, even if you don't want to drive forever. Starting out, your company's success shouldn't solely be dependent on someone else. If your driver flakes out, your wheels can still turn.
